Music felt so blah in 2014 from a mainstream standpoint. None of the A-list competitors stepped away from their respective corners to engage in real entertainment and artistry for the masses. J. Cole did bless the end of year with an extremely solid effort but all the talent was beeping uncontrollably off/under the radar.

A lot of that noise was coming from the South - Atlanta in particular. Young Thug and Rich Homie Quan did their thing pretty heavy, Rae Sremmurd, Future dropped Monster and it was a phenomenal year for producers out of ATL too.

Reese is easily the most influential out of the new crop. He managed to push a project from 2013 that banged all the way through 2014 and turned up on itself with a deluxe release later in the year. PARADE featuring IAMSU! and Casey Veggies maybe what people attribute this years success to but he's had hits and incredible videos for the past three years, toured with Big Sean, done small cultural shows and been in the studio with Wiz Khalifa. His newest visual release is for GOLD HOUSE a standout from his DSNRTRPN project. Peep the modern day pin-ups and cameo.
