EVENT: Jazzbones Club907

May 21st marked our first Club907 at a venue that did not require us bringing everything but the roof. In the past we've had secret locations and alternative locations that we have turned in to venues for the night by providing open bar, music, theme and a bit of decor here and there. Jazzbones is the best venue there is Tacoma based on location, space, bar and lighting. It's also maintained a consistent reputation for being a place that has some validity to performers coastal and statewide. Honestly we were under the impression that Tacomans of our times did not want to go to a party of ours at something so commercial but we were wrong. There are some accommodations to it that we couldn't meet or beat. The bar having a variety wider than light and dark is a start, the location and the area are both familiar and the sound system is on par with Seattle spaces like Neumos and Chop Suey. All that legitimacy helps when you're asking for a club cover.

It was a successful evening. Although it was not a wall to wall turnout the dance floor and the bar were occupied at all times from 11-1. Doors opened at 8 and people showed up at 10 per usual so there was plenty of time to get sauced before dancing. Baloogz set the night off right, he's a crowd favorite for Coach P and I so it didn't take a packed house to get us going. DJ Relly Rell got it going with cuts from 2000 and some Top 40 (he had a Bachelorette party in there going ham) shout out to the Bachelorettes out there. Aramis rounded things out and that's when we all sweated it out to jam after jam. That kid is becoming one to remember outside of Toe Jam expect more from him this Summer. As a surprise to the evening SheedBe gave us a mini performance of his most recent bangers, starting with X-mas Freestyle, then Break the Bank and Cashin. Highlight of the night - :30 shit.

All the love goes to Rachel and her staff at Jazzbones - if this is a sign of the change to come they moving in the right direction. Special thanks to Creating Conversation for helping with the promotion and Dream Couture for looking out.

BUT Thank you Tacoma. Sometimes it feels like we don't say it enough but we are truly grateful for your support in any and all ways. It's magical every time we come together we should do it more often.
