DEAD PRESIDENTS X KING LEEZ FT. MAC DRIS

This is a moment. I’m sure the two have history considering they are both from the Tacoma that helped get the name Tacistan and Tacompton. Back in the era of YLyfe Leez was always picked to be the golden one and at the time Dris was golden boy on the hardwood. It has been a pleasure and pressure to watch both of them grow. I know that many have counted Mac Dris out along the way because of his past as a hooper - when you’re good at one thing people often want to box you into that one thing, we see it happen often. What you don’t see happen often is someone that is considered a veteran connect with the artist on the come-up. Leez has long solidified himself as one of the supreme rappers of our region certainly in our scene and it has been a long rode to get to the level of notoriety that comes along with his name here, not every man wants to share that power. King Leez is fortunate enough to wear his crown comfortably and in my eyes this was knighting moment for Mac Dris and a collaborative occasion that I want to see more of in the near future.

Mac Dris is here for the hook and honestly that is what Dris does best so it isn’t surprising but appreciated that Leez put him in space to win and sound his best as an introduction into a new market. I firmly believe the King Leez listener would have continued to hesitate on pressing play for Mac Dris links without something like this to open the door. The song is energetic and authentic to both artists, the song is 2:53 minutes and it’s two of the most thorough and recognizable reps from the neighborhood not every man could past through safely. For all I know there could be secret cuts from back in those days but I doubt anything like that would see the light of day now both Dris and Leez have advanced so much. King Leez just got back from Paris where he shot a short video to his verse of DEAD PRESIDENTS. Mac Dris is self taught in terms of engineering and song writing and really finding his sound, Leez connecting the dots is a true head nod to his accomplishments. More of this is good for the people. King Leez rarely disappoints these days.
