PRODUCT: Tacoma Surf Club

Tacoma Surf Club is a newer addition to the Club907 arsenal of Tacoman built companies. It's newer to the shop but the spirit of TSC and the curators behind it have been along Club907 since day one. Ian Wheelock is the face of the company and his partner in the biz is totally OK with playing the guy on the other side of the office chair. This is only drop two for TSC and it is already getting the type of traction in the 907 that we thought it might.

Drop II came with a rounded selection of pieces. Two Tshirts, one longsleeve T, one pullover and one jacket. What i like most about the collection is how cohesive it is in terms of design. It takes a lot of courage to believe in the process of branding and driving home a logo. This TSC release everything piece features the waves logo on front and back with wordmark branding on the long sleeve items. The designs are pop colors on black and white items, that is an element of design that is very personal for the designers and where a real compromise must be made, Ian is known for his use of color in his artwork but his cohort in TSC is known for the lack of color in his wardrobe. Somehow the two make the perfect pair and produce strong collections every time. We haven't seen all the pieces but the late Summer or possibly early Fall release is going to be my favorite yet. All we need to see is the rollout and how effective it will be for their fans. 

My personal pieces from this drop are the white waves logo T and the black pullover. Easy staples. But the jackets are moving the fastest, it's outerwear in the PNW it always wins.
