PRODUCT: ETCETERA X DAVE B - THE INTERACTIVE PURCHASE
Building the relationship to collaborate on product was organic, each party respectfully appreciates the other's wave and understands the potential of growing together in order to breed visibility. The backstory is that before we were all "buddy buddy" we have been waiting to bring Dave B in-store for a performance. During the Church Clothes era - I would pay to have that in the shop even now. But much like the eTceTera branding Dave is very rare and on to the next with his sounds. We applied that mindset when during design of the product and in the release of product to ensure that it felt interactive from a purchasers perspective. So initially with the release we it kept it as rare as possible, you had to be in the sold out TOKIMONSTA concert to get your hands on the limited product.
Your second chance was in-store March 12th - Dave was in-store hanging out with the 907. He ate the Fish House, doodled on napkins, practiced his signature and signed CD's and T-shirts to those who came through the shop, took pictures and played all kinds of unreleased/probably will not be released jams including new heat with a Seattle producer the whole world waits to hear. Needless to say it was a good time for all.
The final interactive stage for purchasers of the eTceTera x Dave B T-shirt is a wild night with Dave B, eTceTera and friends and family TBA. With proof of purchase - you're welcome to join Dave and his closest as they celebrate his birthday + bar and sounds from DJ's who won't let me announce their presence. Should be a shindig. Get your T if you didn't get a RSVP.
The design is a flip of the Hi-C juice box art very nostalgic for us. For us the concept holds true to the vibe of Dave's music. It carries an embedded groove that makes you feel the same way you felt if your mother ever woke you up with her "cleaning music" - definitely some of the good ole days when we could still find a package Hi-C boxes in the fridge any given Saturday. It's a soulful quality uncontrived.
