DG is an artist that we see a ton of potential in where he can take his sound. His voice on record, and in real life is unique. There is a raspy edge to his deep tone and it caters to his inflections and his cadences on certain songs. 20 At The Crib DG's contribution to this year's SOUNDWAVES is a notch up from his track on last years VOL2. 20 At The Crib is more tailored to DG as an artist and it's harder to draw those industry rapper comparisons. Last year many enjoyed his song but felt it threaded the line of being Schoolboy Q remake and while I understood the sonic similarities i could not overlook the potent writing and timing. 20 At The Crib highlights DG's ability to take you on a journey, it's an imagery filled memoir of a true hustlers mentality and ability to stay prepared.
