Black Owned: Legendz

Legendz is a black owned walk-up that specializes in “kosher” burgers, hot dogs and Philly cheesesteaks. The coolest thing about Legendz is how much the old adage rings true that some of the best things hide in plain sight. Legendz is also a family owned business and sits on the corner of Sprague and 12th in the Hilltop area of Tacoma. Although there is frequently a line at Legendz it does not wrap around the parking lot or have any bells and whistles other than signage. It truly is one of those “If you know, you know” kinda places. I love everything about it.

I love the family owned environment, it feels and looks mom and pop owned and that may not be for everyone. Which is why Legendz is so neighborhood specific, it’s all word of mouth or you go with someone you know and trust. It is the definition of comfort food in Tacoma. Their fry seasoning is a secret that we don’t want to know, as long as we can order them life is good. It’s hard to have recommendations when you’ll eat anything on the menu so my one recommendation is that you just go give it a try. Consider this that word of mouth that you need to be in the know.
