Black Owned: Legendz

Legendz is a black owned walk-up that specializes in “kosher” burgers, hot dogs and Philly cheesesteaks. Black Owned: Post Office Studios

Having a black owned studio space in Tacoma has been such an interesting business to watch people operate. I’m not saying the Post Office Studios doesn’t have its issues, any studio space is going to have its quirks but the energy in the room is never an issue. Owners Quincy and Matt won’t let it happen. If you are not stepping into the space to work on something in a productive matter they may not let you book it out no matter how many $$$ you flash. There is an integrity within the content at Post Office that rings true to the space and the work that comes out of there.

Black Owned: Aisle Four

Black owned photo studio and boutique Aisle4our had it’s grand opening Friday, February 25th. While the Aisle4our soft opening has been a blessing for young brands that want to invite their customers out for an experience, not just mundane online shopping.t’s a win win for both parties at the end of it all and THAT is what our scene needs to be about. It’s not like that anywhere else that I’ve been to but that doesn’t mean it isn’t possible. But now it’s also time to meet the tastemakers who host and help curate the pop-up experience and the respective brands they own/operate.

This business is a dream come true for me in Tacoma. Parable Tacoma is a women owned, black owned family business, it is both a boutique and a bookstore.
