MUSIC: FLIPS by Josiah French aka Josiah The Messiah AKA Young Shadow Sage

In support of the youth we are always willing to highlight young talent that catches our eye. Josiah has done just that and has been doing so for quite some time. Much like anything that is good enough to keep going there is consistency and persistence. Being 15 and finding support for your goals and ambitions is like reaching for that red balloon after you let it go - there is only a certain amount of time to jump and grab its string before it's out of reach. French's quick twitch skills are impressive and he's caught the string and is killing the scene in reference to high school artist we have met thus far.

I've been looking forward to FLIPS, through following Josiah's soundcloud I discovered he is an amazingly talented composer. He reads music so well he can add, build, create and restructure sonics to fit he liking and do his bidding. I assumed it would be a solid project. He did not disappoint - the intro (and one of the last songs to be completed) Move That Dope is the favorite in Club907 but the entire project is so seamless you can turn it on and ride around TOWN or blast it and zone out in your email inbox. I prefer the latter of the two choices and since French attends SOTA he can stop by the shop a couple times a week, so I took the opportunity to highlight his personality as well as his work and let him explain his work to the listeners through an audio interview.

BIG SHOUT OUT TO JOSIAH FOR WORKING HARD ENOUGH TO GET NOTICED... WE SEE YOU FAM.

Is there rhyme or reason behind your song choices on FLIPS?

What are some of your favorite #FLIPS and is there someone in particular who inspires your style in reference to remixes?

In your opinion what elements of a song must be altered in order for it to be classified as a #FLIPS?

What comes after #FLIPS? (Sidenote: PRESA w/ crew member JayBugg is set for July '15)

Name some people/crews locally you would like to collaborate with in order to build the scene?
