Arched by Tiaira is a Black woman owned beauty business specializing in eyebrow services and located in the heart of South Tacoma Way. The Black owned beauty industry is growing rapidly in Tacoma and Arched By Tiaira is helping ensure South Tacoma Way is well rounded and diverse in its offering. There are only a few Black owned businesses on the main strip between 38th and 56th St. Her timeliness is helping her corner a nice piece of the marketplace and she is just getting started.

Adorned Abode is woman owned, black owned business. Owner Benita is has a knack for knowing what to buy and for how to curate her boutique in a way that is pleasing to the senses. Her customer services is amazing, she is as excited and knowledgeable about her product and she gets out after it often.

Black Owned: Lizzie Lou's

Lizzie Lous’s Comfort Food is a business owned and operated by a black woman. We first learned about the owner Warnessa and her business through our store manager Daz. Daz is someone who does his best to stay closely connected to the black community in the T and does so by utilizing not only his own network but those around him and his mother’s network is often at the top of the list. izzie Lou makes several specialty items, but she does one in particular that sent Daz sprinting to the office to preach the gospel of Lizzie Lou and her “Soul Rolls”.

Black Owned: Above The Brim x Neon Dion (Recap)

Above the Brim and Tacoman artist Neon Dion curated and hosted a one day art exhibition Saturday, February 26th at eTcTacoma from 7:30PM-9:30PM. The art exhibit was a chance to showcase Dion’s controversial art piece “African American?” ATB designer and brand owner Daz has loved the art piece since it’s debut in Club907 and the Northwest African American Museum where the piece was once on display to the public years ago.
